We're running SortSite/PowerMapper on a dedicated Win XP virtual PC in a networked environment using remote access.

When setting up scheduled tasks we've found it useful to create a local user account with appropriate group membership/permissions on the virtual (remote) machine and use that as the schedule authority, rather than trying to run using the domain account that you may be signed in as when setting up the schedules.

This is more a Windows task scheduling/security thing than a SortSite tip itself, but it might help if SortSite schedules don't run due to issues with the task "run as" authorisation.

--- Update (after learning a bit more about SortSite configuration):

SortSite stores configuration settings in the user registry, so if you want to try this out it's a good idea to set up the initial project file and config using the account you'll be using to run the schedule. If you use a different user id to edit the project config to that used to run the scheduled task you may find your settings aren't available to the "run as" user.
